GLP-1 Patient Support | Groups & 1-on-1 Sessions
Back Bottom line

Obesity is a chronic, progressive disease, and you are worthy of care.

I know you may be seeing that before and after and thinking a few things. 1. Why isn't she skinny after four years on a GLP-1? 2. Wait. Didn't she say this isn't a weight loss journey?

This is me meeting you where your brain is. Between diet culture digging deep into our psyche, doctors talking over our heads or behind our backs, and society telling us we aren't enough or we're too much, there's a lot to work through.

You are not on a weight loss journey.

You think you are because of fancy marketing about “blockbuster weight loss drugs” or doctors telling you forever that weight is the problem. But what is real and true is that weight is a symptom of the disease.

Four years ago, I got a script with very little guidance, so I went looking for answers on TikTok. I found doctors there explaining that obesity is a disease and how GLP-1s work, and patients and doctors were building a community together. I've learned so much on this journey and from interviewing experts for the past three years, but the biggest thing I've learned is that obesity is a chronic, progressive disease, and it isn't our fault. Doctors say 40–70% of our weight is predetermined by genetics, and there is very little we can control without medical intervention. What we can influence is our nutrition, movement and stress management. Everything else is someone else's job.

Going on this journey alone is really difficult, so community is at the heart of all the ways I try to fill the gaps in care we just aren't getting. The podcast provides education and advocacy. I host intimate support groups that aren't broadcast live on TikTok and offer one-on-one support with me when you want that extra layer of privacy. And I've learned there's a better way to get more of what we need: The Butter Way and the CozyButter Community.

This is not another weight loss journey. It's the next step toward being the healthiest you that you can be. I can help.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What happens in a one-on-one session?

It is a private conversation, one patient to another. Bring whatever you are working through, whether that is stalls, side effects, regain, what to expect next, or how to advocate for yourself with your care team.

Are you a doctor or a dietitian?

No. I am a patient advocate, not a clinician, and nothing I offer is medical advice. What I bring is four years on GLP-1 treatment, three years interviewing obesity specialists and researchers, and the perspective of thousands of patients in our community.

How do the support groups work?

They meet weekly and are paid per session. They are intentionally small and are not broadcast live, so people can speak openly. You book the sessions you want to attend.

What is Cozy Butter?

A community for people on GLP-1 medications, with daily news, coaching guides, group fitness and a support group that stays kind. It is free to join and separate from the paid sessions.

Do I have to be on medication to join?

No. Anyone navigating obesity care is welcome, whether you are on a GLP-1, considering one, or somewhere in between.
